Did you know almost half risks factors associated with brain disease can be modified? Let's break this down. Some things within an individual's control can support improvements in brain health. According to an American Heart Association (2025) article, adequate healthy nutrition and physical activity can promote a healthy brain. Notable Reflections
on
Mental Wellness
We take care of our physical health. We may benefit ourselves by paying attention to our brain health. The same brain responsible for thoughts, body movements, and feelings. I would invite you to care for the brain as one way to prioritize your mental wellness.

Feeding the brain can be important to how you think about things. Feeding the mind with positive thoughts, learning something new, or even thinking the situation all the way through before doing anything.

Exercising the brain can be essential to having a ready healthy mind when you need it. Exercising the brain by reading, even playing an old school memory game, or using your imagination to dream.

Quieting the mind can support a healthy brain too. Quieting the brain by finishing up something before starting something new. You may try this one. When someone calls you while you're writing or typing, finish the last sentence that you are working on to get that complete thought out before you abruptly stop yourself to answer.

Taking care your brain is an important part of mental wellness and your holistic well-being. Take a moment for brain health this month.
